I keep trying everyday, still fall short. So thankful for Grace

Titus 3 2-5
2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

James 1 26-27
26If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

James 2

14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

(yes I know Salvation is not earned)

James 3 10-13
10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

James 4
11Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

1 John 1 5-10
5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 2 9-11
9He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1 John 3 11
11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

1 John 4 7-12

7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

I have to choose to love for I am human. But I can say in choosing to in comes easy because of the Grace of God. I may never really understand it but I don't have to.
Love now tomorrow is not promised to anyone

"Love covers a multitude of sin." Now that is something we all need to give and to get. Interesting, to cover one another's sins with love just as Jesus has covered ours.:0)

Yep Pam your right we cover each other. I grow so tired of the picking of each other I see so much of. I am not to be a stumbling block to any brother or sister. I might not see things how another does but if they have professed Jesus Christ as there Lord then they are part of my Christ family.

Pam I appreciate your braveness in posting some very personal and difficult post. You are a blessing in doing so,how wonderful would our family be if everyone where so transparent.

Thank you for what you give it is beautiful.

Well, transparency has never been a problem for me. Now discretion...that one is hard and something I have to work on. I am straight forward in the extreme which has its downside too. Isn't that the way it goes, our strength is also our fault?

I like all the things you have to say about love. I think that is what we get tested on the most and I really think that is what church is about, learning to love people we don't like very much.lol! Even when we quit church, we all find each other again somewhere. We seek each other out. God is so good. I love to love so sweetie, I'll cover over your sins if you cover over mine. I certainly need as much acceptance as I can get. When you put it all out there the way I have a tendency to do, it blesses some and angers others and the second is hard to bear sometimes. Your gentle pats on the back, not just for me but for others always bless me a great deal. I guess that's why I'm here.:0)
