Are we perfect?

I have a icky tape that runs through my head 24/7 I am used to it so it is losing it's impact which is good. This tape reminds me how imperfect I am and how very different from God I am. I was listening to a song called perfect today and I realized this is how we as a collective who call ourselves Christians sound to the one who don't believe or worse yet believe and are in the worst situations we judge.

I know we can go round and round about how we deal with a brother in sin but I wonder is our default suppose to be love. Not the misuse of love that says everything is ok but the love that is willing to be honest, always kind and forgiving.

Do these lyrics sound like our soapboxes or is it just me?

Alanis Morissette Perfect

Sometimes is never quite enough
If you're flawless, then you'll win my love
Don't forget to win first place
Don't forget to keep that smile on your face
Be a good boy
Try a little harder
You've got to measure up
And make me prouder
How long before you screw it up
How many times do I have to tell you to hurry up
With everything I do for you
The least you can do is keep quiet
Be a good girl
You've gotta try a little harder
That simply wasn't good enough
To make us proud
I'll live for you
I'll make you what I never was
If you're the best, then maybe so am I
Compared to him compared to her
I'm doing this for your own damn good
You'll make up for what I blew
What's the problem ...... why are you crying
Be a good boy
Push a little farther now
That wasn't fast enough
To make us happy
We'll love you just the way you are if you're perfect

Act like your loved, you are

Showing love and compassion for a brother in sin. Starting out by telling them we are sinners as well and by no means perfect! We can add however that we strive to be as perfect as we can be.

Just the acknowledgement to others and ourselves of not being perfect, already gives much more understanding towards the ones that need it.

But love remains the greatest of all.

Those are my two cents. :-)

God's Grace.

Corry, I would never believe for a second that you would be part of the pack that seems to set up rings to jump through for our brothers and sisters.

I guess I see so much of "you must think this way"
"you must be this way"
"salvation looks like this not like that"

We are to judge by the fruit not by the sin or perceived sin since it is impossible to know what is going on in someones life. I guess I am really, very hungry for true sanctuary with my family in Christ and not discourse.

I am so far from perfect even though daily I hope to be closer for His sake. Pointing out everything wrong with everyone else does nothing to benefit the Kingdom of course I am not talking crimes and such just life.

btw your priceless

Speaking from a place of perfection, I can assure the rest of you that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

That aside, you are a marvelous woman who is, truth be told, a lot closer to perfect than this old man.

Babe where is it your speaking from cause I want to go there?

You can not be old cause if you are then I am too. So if you want to act older like some stubborn teenager go right ahead but everyone will know it is just an act

Love you tons
