Regarding Prophets
Not everyone on earth heard individual Prophets of old. Only God has that power for all to see and all to hear. So I am wondering since we are each different in making up the body of Christ could there not be Prophets that well may be within hearing range but that some of us do not have ears to hear?
I am asking from experience sometimes I have heard and understood a Prophet and sometimes in attempting to try to hear it has left me desolate, afraid and shrinking from God. In those cases I am not sure that, that would mean the Prophet is not true, could it not mean that the words are not mine to hear?
Are we not all in a different place on our narrow roads?
Just wondering and would love your thoughts.
Be loved you are. Love now tomorrow is not promised

You know I have been wondering about the role of Prophets in our day and era also. I am thinking of re-investigating their role for the church today. This post has inspired me to seek the role of the Prophet in my life.
Its hard pecheur. I absolutely believe God will and does anything for His own because His desire is none shall parish. SO it is no wonder to me that He would speak through a burning bush or a person or whatever He desires.
The Bible of course gives us stern warning about anything false. But I wonder sometimes if we are so intent on finding what is false that we throw the baby out with the bath water.
Jesus is my sword if you will He fights for me so who am I to say to one your are this or that. If my Soul can be washed by the actions of Christ and the cross then can He not keep me from the harm of false if it is my desire for truth?
Time tells all and while at times false prophets are revealed through the Holy Spirit right away others not so much and have we forgotten that we are called to treat each other with the respect and mercy we have been given?
If it is not clear and God has not said to me this is true this is not I simply would rather say this is not for my ears then reject one sent. Unless of course God reveals a false prophet and then I shall shut my ears and eyes to them as I believe it is told.
pecheur I ask what you learn please tell. Just use little words with me.
Be loved my brother you are
I think that the gift of prophecy is different under Grace than it was in OT times. As Christians, we are indwelled with the Holy Spirit. Christ lives in us and Jesus is our Prophet, Priest, and King. We each are in a relationship with God. In OT times, the Holy Spirit came upon a man that God had chosen and the words He spoke to him were to be delivered to the people who could not hear from God directly.
I know others have a different take on this but this is the conclusion I've come to after much soul searching and prayer. Also in the 24th chapter of Matthew, Jesus warns of false prophets during the last days but He never mentions God raising up Prophets such as were in the OT. Some use the passage from Joel as to sons and daughters prophesying in the last days but I see this as being fulfilled in all Christians who speak according to the Holy Spirit within them.
Anyway, I've been confused about this for over a year now and finally, I am unconfused. I feel God has given me the answer I needed and I'm sure He'll give you yours as well.:0)

I think it is the same with hearing as it is with reading. There are times I read the Bible and don't understand what is means. When I reread on a later time, whether that be days, weeks or months, then suddenly I do understand. I suppose I was not ready for it the first time?
Could it be the same with hearing prophets? I do think however when hearing a false prophet you will know the truth in your heart. If in doubt, take the time, wait and eventually it will reveal itself if it is a false or a true prophet. In the mean time you can still treat that person with respect.
That's my two cents for today. grin.
I hope y'all are well.
